Substance Use Disorder Treatment

Substance use disorder treatment is provided to adults with a DSM diagnosed substance use disorder who are actively using substances and wish to begin recovery, have previously been in recovery and have relapsed, or are vulnerable to reoffending, yet do not require 

the intensity of residential treatment or IOP programming. All Empowered for Excellence’s substance use disorder outpatient programs provide guidance and support for clients at risk in their own environment, as clinically indicated. 

Through group, individual, case management, and crisis intervention services, these programs aim to provide a support system that allows each client to make the right choice for themselves to promote their own recovery. Clients are engaged as 

valuable decision makers in the treatment process; frequency and modalities of treatment are determined with the client’s input and are based on each individual client or family’s strengths, needs, assets, and goals. Evidence-based treatment models utilized in these programs include the Matrix model and Relapse Prevention.

These programs embrace the rights of the individual and always seek to avoid interventions encouraging reliance or dependence on a professional to guide the individual’s recovery. Clients are encouraged to participate in advocacy groups and support groups unique to each client’s needs and symptoms.

Each SUD (substance use disorder) program at EFE is abstinence-based; individuals who do not comply with this requirement will be evaluated and possibly referred for detoxification services. After detoxification, clients will be evaluated for a return to services.      

Our SUD services include assessment, treatment planning, case management services, individual counseling, couples and family counseling, intensive outpatient treatment, and laboratory urinalysis. 

We work with voluntary clients, as well as court ordered clients, with the goal of reaching and maintaining sobriety.
